The de Montmollin family have been maintaining the tradition of the culture of the vine and the development of quality wines since the 17th Century. Founded in 1937, Domaine E. de Montmollin Fils was taken over in 1982 by the 3rd generation, who managed and modernised the vineyard.
In 2011, Jean-Michel took over the company under the name of Domaine de Montmollin SA, assisted by his son Benoit.
With a passion for vines from a very young age, Benoit was trained among the best Swiss winegrowers in order to perfect his knowledge and to learn new wine-making techniques. Thanks to his expertise, the entire Domaine is cultivated according to the principles of biodynamics.
As of 1st January 2017, Benoit and his sister, Rachel Billeter-de Montmollin, who represent the 4th generation, took over the management of the Domaine.
They cultivate and manage an estate of nearly 50 hectares with 10 different grape varieties, making it one of the largest wine-growing enterprises in the canton of Neuchâtel. All the vines are cultivated according to the precepts of biodynamics and the Bio-Suisse label was obtained in 2017.
A fruity bouquet, finesse and roundness lie at the heart of their quest to accompany the finest dishes, with pleasure being their ultimate purpose.
